Pre and Postnatal care
Pregnancy and the postpartum period are times during which women experience extreme changes in their bodies. Issues such as back pain, pelvic pain, neck pain, wrist pain, diastasis recti abdominis (separation of the abdominal muscles), and core weakness are common during this period. In some cases, these things can become dysfunctional over time. In addition, some women need to address different challenges, such as healing after a C-section, regaining bladder or bowel control, persistent pain, and understanding appropriate return to exercise. Physical therapy can help with these changes and more.
Pelvic floor therapy
Understanding and optimizing the function of the pelvic floor does not only include performing Kegels! Through external and/or internal assessment of the pelvic floor and the associated structures, we can improve all functions of the pelvic floor, including bladder control, bowel control, sexual function and persistent pain.
Sports Injury Recovery
Have a pain that seems to always come up during or after a workout? Tweak your knee while playing soccer? Physical therapy can help by assessing your strengths, flexibility, and movement patterns and teaching you how to best maximize those in order to get back to what you love doing.
Pre and Postsurgical care
Physical Therapy before and after an orthopedic procedure can help to improve strength, function, decrease postoperative pain and swelling, and get you back to your life sooner.
Treatment can include hands-on tissue work, joint mobilizations, muscle reeducation, and cues for appropriate execution of exercises.
